Varicose Vein Treatments
at London Bridge Healthcare

Varicose veins are more than just a cosmetic concern; they can lead to discomfort, pain, and other serious health issues if left untreated. Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins that often appear on the legs and feet. They occur when the valves within the veins become weak or damaged, causing blood to pool and the veins to enlarge. This condition can result in symptoms such as aching, swelling, and heaviness in the legs, and in severe cases, it can lead to skin changes or ulcers.

Our Varicose Vein Treatments include: Radiofrequency Ablation(RFA), Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), Foam Sclerotherapy, Microsclerotherapy, Phlebectomies

VARICOSE VEINS

Foam Sclerotherapy

Foam sclerotherapy is used for larger veins, where a foamed sclerosant is injected to close off the vein, allowing blood to reroute through healthier vessels.

Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA)

Carried out on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic, the EVLA (endovenous laser ablation) is a minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided procedure involving endovenous ablation of the affected saphenous vein. The procedure generally takes an hour. You will be able to walk out of the clinic, after a nice cup of tea.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

At London Bridge Healthcare, we offer advanced, minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins using radiofrequency ablation (RFA), a cutting-edge procedure designed to effectively and safely eliminate varicose veins with minimal downtime. Radiofrequency ablation is a highly effective and preferred treatment for varicose veins. Unlike traditional surgical methods, RFA is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat generated by radiofrequency energy to close off the affected veins. This causes the veins to collapse and be gradually reabsorbed by the body, rerouting blood flow to healthier veins.

Microsclerotherapy

Microsclerotherapy is a highly effective treatment for small thread veins, involving the injection of a special solution that causes the veins to collapse and fade over time.

Phlebectomies

For more prominent varicose veins, phlebectomies offer a precise surgical approach, removing affected veins through tiny incisions with minimal scarring.

Key Benefits of Radiofrequency Ablation

  • Minimally Invasive – RFA is performed through a small incision, reducing the risk of scarring and speeding up recovery time.
  • Effective Results – Clinical studies show that RFA has a high success rate, with most patients experiencing significant relief from symptoms and a noticeable improvement in the appearance of their legs.
  • Quick Recovery – Patients typically resume normal activities within a day or two, making it a convenient option for those with busy lifestyles.
  • Reduced Pain and Discomfort – RFA is associated with less pain and bruising compared to traditional vein-stripping surgery.

The RFA Treatment Process

At London Bridge Healthcare, your journey to healthier legs begins with a comprehensive consultation with one of our experienced vascular specialists. During this consultation, we will:

01

Assess Your Condition

We’ll conduct a thorough evaluation of your varicose veins, including an ultrasound examination, to determine the severity and the best course of treatment.

02

Discuss Your Options

Based on the assessment, we’ll discuss the RFA procedure in detail, including what to expect before, during, and after treatment. We’ll also address any questions or concerns you may have.

03

The Procedure

The RFA procedure itself is performed under local anaesthesia. A small catheter is inserted into the affected vein, and radiofrequency energy is applied to seal the vein. The procedure typically takes less than an hour, and you can return home the same day.

04

Aftercare and Recovery

Following the procedure, you’ll be advised to wear compression stockings to aid in healing. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions and schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress.
