London Bridge Healthcare is offering a heart health awareness check to help you understand whether you may have risk factors linked to heart disease.
Why Consider a Heart Health Check?
Heart disease risk can develop gradually and without obvious symptoms. This awareness check provides clarity about common cardiovascular risk factors and helps you better understand your heart health.
Who Is This Check Suitable For?
This heart health awareness check is designed for individuals aged 40 and over. If you are under 40 and have concerns about your heart health, we recommend speaking to your GP for further advice.
What’s Included
Your 20-minute appointment includes:
- Lipid profile and Lipoprotein A (cholesterol levels)
- Apolipoprotein B (ApoB)
- Haemoglobin A1C (blood sugar marker)
- Blood pressure check
- Height, weight and waist measurements
These tests assess contributing factors associated with heart disease.
Preparing for Your Appointment
- Fast for a minimum of 8 hours before your appointment
- Clear fluids (such as water) are permitted
- Continue prescribed medication as normal
Appointment duration: approximately 20 minutes.
What Will My Results Show?
Your results will provide information about modifiable risk factors linked to heart disease.
Fixed risk factors include:
- Age
- Gender
- Family history
Modifiable risk factors include:
- Smoking
- High cholesterol and triglycerides
- High blood pressure
- Raised blood sugar
- Physical inactivity
You may choose to discuss your results with your GP if appropriate.
